Anurag Singh Thakur, India’s minister of information and broadcasting, announced that the government will launch a centralized platform to promote the culture of volunteering. In New Delhi, he spoke at the Sankalp Se Siddhi Conference, which celebrated 75 years of independence and laid out a road map for India at 100 years old.
The government is working to create a unified portal where citizens will be able to volunteer in the sector of their choice, according to Mr. Thakur. In his interaction with industrialists of various sectors, Mr. Thakur stressed the importance of training and skilling to the development of youth. To this end, the industry needs to emphasize training and skilling. In order to create a new India, the Minister said, public participation must be transformed into mass movement.
