Shah inaugurates the National Cyber Forensic Laboratory

Amit Shah, Union Home and Co-operation Minister, formally opened the National Cyber Forensic Laboratory (NCFL) in Hyderabad. Shah inaugurated the premium laboratory at the Central Forensic Science Laboratory located in Ramanthapur in the city. The Home Ministry’s Cyber and Information Security Division has established the NCFL at the CFSL under the Cyber Crime Prevention against Women and Children scheme. CFSL was awarded the project with an estimated cost of INR 35.51 crores.

Shah inaugurates the National Cyber Forensic LaboratoryThe Home Minister unveiled the plaque and visited the forensic analysis wing and the High-End Forensic Smart Server. During the meeting, the scientists explained to the Home Minister how the repository of data can be used even from a remote location. They also explained how to reduce the turnaround time of cases by using quality reports. For issues in the field of digital forensics, NCFL created four specialized units with state-of-the-art facilities, including a Mobile phone embedded system examination unit, a digital storage media examination unit, an Advanced Digital Forensic Unit, and a Crime Scene Unit.
