PM Modi lays foundation stone for projects worth over INR80K crores in UP

At the Third Ground-Breaking Ceremony of the UP Investors’ Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for 1,406 projects worth over INR 80,000 crore. A range of sectors are covered by the projects, including Agriculture and Allied, IT and Electronics, Manufacturing, Renewable Energy, Pharma, Tourism, Defence & Aerospace, Handloom and Textiles. At this event, PM Modi said investors have shown faith in the youth power of Uttar Pradesh and it will be a win-win situation for investors as well as the people of the state. The record amount of investment in this ground-breaking ceremony will create jobs and demonstrate Uttar Pradesh’s growing confidence, according to the PM. The project will especially benefit the youth in the state.

PM Modi lays foundation stone for projects worth over INR80K crores in UPPM Modi added that the global environment has brought great opportunities and that only democratic India has the potential to take advantage of them. Modi said that the NDA Government’s reform, performance and transformation policies, as well as policy stability and ease of doing business, have strengthened the nation in the last eight years. In the last eight years, a distinct culture of completing projects on time has developed in the country, he explained. As the third-largest energy consumer and third-fastest growing economy among G-20 countries, India has attracted 84 billion dollars in foreign direct investment in the past fiscal year.

Speaking about the potential of Uttar Pradesh, Mr Modi said that improved law and order has created an environment for investment in the state. This will spur India’s growth story in the 21st century. Announcing the investment-friendly policies of the state, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assured investors that their investments in the state would not only be safe, but also secure. He said that although the State Government has faced various challenges in the last few years, it has not only saved the lives and livelihood of the people of the state, but has also continued to attract investment and turn it into reality.

According to him, the unemployment rate in the state has decreased from 18 percent to 2.9 percent during the last tenure of his government. Union Minister Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey, leading industry figures, investors and senior officials were among those present. The first ground breaking ceremony took place on 29th July 2018 and the second on 28th July 2019. Ground breaking ceremonies were held for 81 projects worth more than INR 61,500 crore in the first ceremony, and for 290 projects worth more than INR 67,000 crore in the second ceremony.
