India on track to become a global hub for drone technology – PM Modi

India is on track to become a global hub for drone technology, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today. Mr Modi announced at New Delhi’s biggest drone festival – Bharat Drone Mahotsav-2022 that India has a huge potential to establish a worldwide drone hub and this technology will play a crucial role in several sectors such as agriculture, defence, disaster management, health, and land mapping in the future.

The program enables the first digital mapping of every property in every village in the country. As a result, humans are no longer involved in the process and transparency has increased. According to PM Modi, this government has relaxed drone regulations. A robust ecosystem for the drone sector is being created by the Production Linked Incentive scheme.

India’s drone industry is booming, and he urged investors to invest. Additionally, PM Modi encouraged youth to create drone startups. The Bharatiya Drone Mahotsav will transform India into a drone hub by 2030. There are over 1,600 delegates and more than 70 exhibitors displaying drones at the Mahotsav. The Mahotsav is being attended by industry leaders, government officials, foreign diplomats, representatives of public sector units, private companies, and drone startups.
